Handcrafted Tasmanian Blackwood Dining Table
This stunning dining table is handcrafted from premium Tasmanian Blackwood, showcasing the natural beauty and character of the timber. Constructed from two carefully selected slabs, the tabletop has been expertly joined using traditional dowel construction and handcrafted butterfly keys, providing both strength and a striking visual feature.
Natural knots, cracks, and voids have been filled with a rich dark coffee-coloured resin, enhancing the timber's unique character while creating a smooth, durable surface. The tabletop is protected with a premium resin finish for long-lasting durability and is completed with a natural beeswax topcoat that enriches the grain and provides a warm, satin sheen.
Every stage of the build is completed by hand with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring exceptional quality, strength, and craftsmanship. No two tables are ever the same, making each piece a truly unique centrepiece designed to be enjoyed for generations.

🌲 A little history about Redwood
Redwood trees, also known as Sequoia sempervirens, are native to the coastal regions of Northern California and southern Oregon. They are famous for their incredible size, longevity and naturally rich, warm-coloured timber. Some redwoods can live for more than 1,000 years and grow to enormous heights.
Redwood has become well established in New Zealand after being introduced in the 1800s, with plantations and historic redwood trees found throughout the country. Its beautiful colour, grain and workability make it a popular timber for furniture and feature pieces.
